There are three options for this celebration of the OA‘s 100th year.  I hope you choose one of these fast-approaching dates and join in the celebration.

For details on Arrowtour you may visit: http://arrowtour.oa-bsa.org/

The dates close to us are:

This Saturday July 11th, at Battleship Park in Mobile, AL

Monday July 13th at Camp Tiak near Wiggins, MS

Tuesday, July 14th at the Andrew Jackson Council’s Office in Jackson

This Saturday’s event you are allowed to come earlier and visit the USS Alabama (cost for this is free if you are in uniform) parking is $2.  Bring money for a quick lunch. The actual Arrowtour event will start at 3pm and end with a brief presentation at 8pm for each location.  There will be an OA Trading Post onsite, and most likely some kind of concessions. This is a come-and-go event.  There is no need to stay until 8pm unless you want to.

We have one volunteer with a van willing to take people to each venue as needed.

We have three vehicles with limited space available for those who would like to come on Saturday.  We will depart from Vowell’s grocery store on Highway 12 in Starkville at 7am.  This will allow time to get a quick lunch and see the battleship prior to the Arrowtour event.

If you would like to come this Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday and would like a ride, let me know ASAP!

If you are taking your own vehicle and would be willing for others to ride with you, please let me know and we will coordinate a plan that is best for everyone.

If you would like to attend the Tuesday event in Jackson, you should register here:  https://bsa-jackson.doubleknot.com/Registration/RegisterAll.aspx there is no cost, but they are trying to get a head count.

All three local councils are working hard to add to their event.  They will each have different games and fun.

Lastly, there will be an opportunity to screen print a t-shirt.  The ink is red so bring an appropriate shirt.  They will also have a few OA logos that can be branded so bring a piece of wood of your leather belt to have branded.

Many Thanks,

Brice
