Important Info Regarding Post Camp Ordeal

In the PreOrdeal Ceremony, Kitchkinet tells us, “This ordeal is but a shadow of the rigors of the journey, but its joys also are shadows of the brighter, greater beauty in a life of cheerful service.

This Post Camp Ordeal on August 15th – 17th you are invited to make a difference in the lives of others unlike anything we have done before. We will meet at Camp Seminole Friday evening. Registration will begin at 7:00 pm. Our PreOrdeal Ceremony will start around 9:00pm. We will depart Sunday around 10:00am. You are welcome to stay at this point and join our officers at our Lodge Executive Committee meeting beginning at 10:00am in the Admin Building.

Saturday, our cheerful service will not be our usual routine at Camp Seminole. After a quick breakfast, we will depart for Louisville, MS to meet the needs of those who were affected by the tornado that ravaged the area on April 28th, 2014. We can pick up sticks, fold tents, and repair things at Camp Seminole at any time. The LEC and I sincerely ask for your help in providing much needed help where it is needed most.

At this time we have the following needs:

Over 15 yards need cleaning, raking, and possible grass cutting

Over 15 projects requiring chainsaws to cut and clear trees

3 projects requiring tarps to be repaired and tightened on homes that were tarped after the storm

8-10 projects requiring the removal of damaged building materials including lumber, roofing, drywall, insulation, and floorcovering from affected homes.

Rakes, gloves, shovels, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, and basic demolition and construction tools are needed.

We do not expect to accomplish all of this in one day, but we want to do all that we can.  The more people who come help, the more we can accomplish.  If you can help in any way, please call or email me at 662-617-3933 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The weekend fee is $20, add $10 if you need to pay your dues, and $10 for the Brotherhood Ceremony. Pack an OA t-shirt or Scout t-shirt and long pants for Saturday. If time permits, we will have some aquatic fun Saturday evening so pack a swim suit and towel. Don’t forget your water bottle, hygiene supplies and Class A uniform.
